I don’t think the storm that’s gathering is what you think.

In case you’re still an ignorant and small-minded hate monger, let me give you yet another argument over the issue of same-sex marriage.

One of the primary purposes of the government is to keep records of its citizens and to ensure that transactions within society are done properly and orderly. As far as the government is concerned, the main purpose of marriage is to record the contract between 2 people. With a marriage contract, two people gives each other rights to many things such as rights to property, a say in medical decisions, taxes, etc. There are certain powers and responsibilities that each partner gives to each other once they’re married. This is what the government is concerned with knowing and keeping track of.

The majority of arguments out there against gay marriage has a religious tone / reasoning behind it. I would still argue the interpretation of your religious reasons, but for argument sakes, let’s pretend your religion is anti-love/happiness/gay marriage. If your religion does not tolerate gay marriage, then I do support the fact that you do not need to spiritually recognize gay marriages or perform gay marriages within your church/mosque/synagogue/religious building. That is your right as a faith.

However, one of the main principles that this country was built on, one of the main reasons that makes this country unlike those theocratic governments in the middle east and in other parts of the world, is that we believe in a separation between church and state. As far as the state is concerned, marriage is a legal contract. The state cares about the contract being signed, documented, and exercised properly. That’s all it cares about. All the reasons that the opposition puts out there against gay marriage are theocratic reasons, which a secular government should not care anything about.

Have you ever stopped to think what you’re doing by trying to influence the government with your religious small-minded views? You’re basically trying to change the government to a theocratic government. Is that what you want to see? That this country of ours be run by one single set of religious rules? Have you seen how other theocratic governments are like? Is that what you want us to be like? Because that’s what you’re trying to do by pushing such hate agendas such as banning gay marriages.

Along those same lines, what do you think the people in the Taliban, Al-qaeda, and other terrorist groups trying to do? In case you haven’t taken a second to figure this out, they’re trying to reshape all governments in the world by a set of religious rules. This is the same agenda as what you’re pushing. It doesn't matter what religous rules, but at the end of the day, both you and the terrorist groups want theocratic governments. So in case you haven’t realized this, you have the same agenda as the terrorists we’re fighting. You are helping their agenda to create theocratic governments. So don’t EVER talk about being patriotic if you support banning gay marriage because you’re not on our side. You have the same ideal and agenda as the terrorist.

In case you’re getting confused with what I’m saying here, let me put this really clear to you. The United States government is (suppose to be) secular. Meaning that it doesn’t have anything and shouldn’t have anything to do with religion. It doesn’t care who’s getting married as long as it’s between 2 people and they sign a contract (marriage certificate). You religious folks have the right to not recognize gay marriage within your religion and can refuse to perform any ceremonies that involve gay marriage. That is your right.

As longs as we keep these two things separate, things will be ok. For example, the government should not tell any religious group that they HAVE to perform a gay ceremony if they didn’t want to. That would be a violation of the separation of church and state. Along those same lines, religious group should NOT be lobbying the government to ban gay marriage because that is also a violation of church and state. Which technically if a church does lobby, they are now a political group and should lose their tax exempt status.

With so many problems going on around the world right now, how you could possible waste any time and resources on this utterly ridiculous issue is beyond me. All that shows is that you’re either not intelligent enough to understand what are the real issues in the world today, or that your main agenda is to push for a theocratic government which puts you in the same group as the terrorists.

Mini-Post

Why don't these douche baggers realize that this whole idea of tea-bag party is not a grass root effort? This whole idea is well funded by Republican million and billionaires and sponsored by Fox News. They're looking to keep the tax cuts for the ultra rich, not for you. They are just using you. They could give a rat's ass about you and you will never become one of these people that will benefit from these tax cuts for the super-rich.

How absolutely ignorant and disrespectful can you be by comparing your idiotic little circus sideshow with what the founding fathers did.

Think what you're doing. Fighting for the super rich to keep more of their money. That's great. Really good cause you've selected there. Cause no one need help like those poor super rich people. They sure need someone to speak and fight for them.
